Templeogue Guides are looking for volunteers to help out at Guide meetings one evening a week.
No experience required and training will be provided.

What does it involve?
The Guides meet once a week during term-time to do badgework, challenges and other activities. The girls themselves play a large part in planning and running these activities. In addition to this, occasional hikes and camps are organised, usually in conjunction with other companies. These activities are planned subject to the availability of leaders or other adult helpers.

Benefits of being a Guide Leader

• Training is available through the organisation in leadership, first aid, camp skills, training other leaders, and more
• Opportunity to register for and complete the Gaisce (the President's Award) if you are <25
  
• Experience of working with children/teenagers (particularly useful if you have an interest in teaching or social work)
• The enjoyment of working with the girls!

There are also regular opportunities for leaders to participate in international seminars and events.

One of our leaders have already been to Slovakia twice through their involvement with the Guides, and in 2007 sailed from Inverness to Dublin on the Asgard II with Rangers and Leaders from CGI and IGG.

Our mission is to provide a challenging Guiding programme within a safe environment, to enable all girls and young women to develop their full potential.

The Guide CHOICES programme is divided into seven sections: Creativity, Health, Outdoors, International, Communication, Environment and a Special Project.

The girls themselves decide how they want to work through these sections, with the guidance of their leaders. You can help them to achieve this.
